When compounding and extruding sheet, two things tend to come to mind: footprint and impact on material. Common sheet plastics such as PET and PLA are some of the most susceptible to heat and shear and under these conditions, become discolored and lose their strength. The MAS co-rotating conical twin-screw extruder has about half the residency time of comparable parallel extruders, reducing the material degradation during the processing.
